The Simonton City Council approved a motion on May 19 to form a committee charged with planning the United States of America 250th Birthday Celebration. The motion, made by Eric Duhon and seconded by Justin Boudreau, named Kelli Carlson, Angela King and the mayor to serve on the committee.
