The council issued a series of proclamations declaring April observances: National Crime Victims' Rights Week (April 19through April 25), Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month (April 2026), National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (April 2026), National Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week (April 12through 18), National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (April 12through 18) and Military Child Month (April 2026).
