Committee targets late-September RFP release and aims for Dec. 1 contract start
Staff proposed an RFP schedule (Sept. 25 release, Oct. 6 inquiries deadline, Oct. 16 proposals, Oct. 23 shortlist) and asked the committee to aim for a council action in mid-November so a new lobbying contract could begin Dec. 1.

City staff presented a draft procurement timeline and asked the committee if it could move forward with an accelerated schedule to have a contract in place by Dec. 1, the city's usual start date for lobbying services. Brian Head said a sample schedule would include a Sept. 25 release, Oct. 6 deadline for inquiries, an Oct. 16 proposal due date and an Oct. 23 shortlist announcement.
