Council hears first reading to update park rules for e-bikes, e-scooters and park hours
On first reading Council considered amending park-conduct ordinances to clarify where e-bikes and e-scooters are allowed, prohibit them on natural-surface trails and athletic fields, restrict motorcycles, and set park hours from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; the public hearing drew no comments.

Parks and Recreation staff presented proposed amendments to Chapter 8 (Offenses and Nuisances) to update conduct rules in city parks. The changes would remove some restrictions on e-scooters, clarify permitted areas for e-bikes and e-scooters, prohibit their use on natural-surface trails and athletic fields, and explicitly prohibit motorcycles and motorbikes in parks. The proposed park operating hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
