The town's building/engineering representative reported that average daily wastewater flow for the month increased to about 62,000 gallons per day — roughly 10,000 gpd above normal — and that staff have not yet located the source. "Average daily flow for the month is increased to 62,000 gallons a day so it's about 10,000 gallons a day higher than normal," the inspector said, and described systematic quadrant‑by‑quadrant leak investigation and use of acoustic leak‑detection equipment.
