Commission outlines next steps for Comprehensive Plan, noting traffic concerns on U.S. Rt. 1

Commissioner Karen Meloney updated the Commission on the Comprehensive Plan process, describing a recent public workshop held at the Township Building with interactive stations where residents identified priorities and allocated hypothetical funds among topics such as housing variety, open space, and transportation. She said staff and the consultant have begun receiving online survey responses via QR code and that a Township newsletter containing the survey has been mailed to residents.

Meloney reported recurring public concern about traffic conditions on U.S. Rt. 1 and intersections such as Parkersville Road. The Commission encouraged continued public engagement as the consultant gathers survey responses and workshop input. No action items were taken at this meeting on the Comprehensive Plan update; staff and commissioners will continue outreach and compile results for future planning steps.
