Planning staff outlines multi‑jurisdictional comprehensive plan and implementation timeline

Planning staff told the commission they are finalizing goals, strategies and actions across topic areas and expect a draft of the county’s first multi‑jurisdictional comprehensive plan in early March, with a tentative adoption presentation in May or June. The iteration will include a firm implementation plan tying actions to responsible parties and funding opportunities, which staff said was missing from the previous plan.

According to staff, action teams are completing their work and staff will use the draft to move into adoption and then year‑long implementation. Staff said they will bring study sessions to the commission when the draft is available and invited commissioners to engage with action teams and provide input during the review period. Staff stressed the plan’s role in guiding code amendments and prioritizing actions tied to affordable housing and infrastructure.
