Board approves multiple rezones and a downzone with conditions
At its August meeting, the Pickens County Board approved several rezoning requests — including a 13.32-acre commercial rezoning with landscaping/lighting conditions and a 6.12-acre downzone to agricultural that must be combined with adjoining property — along with two residential rezones for lot creation.

The board approved several land-use applications: RZ191163 (13.32 acres to highway business) with conditions tied to landscaping, screening and downward-facing lighting if developed for gas station or storage uses; RZ191179 (8.1 acres to rural residential) and RZ191180 (10 acres to rural residential) to create buildable lots following planning-commission recommendations; and BDZ-191196, a 6.12-acre downzone to agricultural with a condition that the parcel be combined with neighboring agricultural property.
