Staff said the city heard from community members that green space and tree retention are important and that many landscaping requirements only trigger at larger project sizes. "I can say that the threshold for tree retention will be lowered. I think right now it's at once you hit 20 parcels. So that will be lowered," Mitchell said, and staff added they are coordinating Recode Kent with a separate ECD tree-code project.
