Community Services Director Daniel Coopermanman and mental health liaison Lyn Murphy gave the committee an update on homelessness, noting the 2024 point‑in‑time (PIT) count and telling members the county completed a 2026 PIT with results expected shortly. “What you see in front of you is a little over a thousand folks unsheltered within the county with over 300 of them sheltered,” the presenters said, adding that San Rafael accounted for about 326 of the roughly 1,090 people counted in 2024.
