State multi-use trails grant opens; borough committee hunts for shovel-ready projects

Stephanie told the committee a multi-use trails grant through the state Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is accepting applications, with projects eligible for construction-ready trail work, trailhead improvements and safety or education programs. "It basically can provide funds for trail projects and trail head improvement projects for 300,000 if it's non up to 300,000 if it's non-motorized and up to $400,000 if it's motorized," she said, and noted the program typically funds 90% of costs (10% match required).
