Road superintendent details storm cleanup, spring paving plans and pothole reporting process

Road Superintendent Toby Ellis updated the commission on recent storm and snow responses and plans for spring paving and pothole reporting.

Ellis said crews have been "cleaning debris from under bridges and repairing roads" and that the department is "getting roads ready to begin paving in the spring." He added that residents should report potholes by calling the highway office or emailing — "He says they needs to call the office or email" — noting there is not a Facebook-based pothole reporting option. Ellis also raised the idea of creating a storm team to handle repairs and cleanups more rapidly after major weather events.

Commissioners did not vote on funding or formally adopt a new reporting system; the discussion was recorded as a status update and a direction to consider a storm team and necessary signage and staffing for upcoming paving work.
