Nevada targets May–June pilot and July launch for NEST after staffing and data agreements

State Treasurer Zach Conine and program staff told the board Jan. 24 that the Nevada Employee Savings Trust has finalized hiring and key data agreements needed for outreach and pilot recruitment. Michael Pelham announced the NEST team is fully staffed and introduced the program’s new outreach officer, Kayla Slaughter, who will lead employer engagement as the program approaches pilot operations.

Pelham said a data‑sharing agreement with DETR (unemployment insurance data) will help identify employers to recruit for the pilot; staff are also exploring additional agency data‑sharing agreements. The board was told the staff hopes to finalize branding and promotional materials in February and target May–June for a pilot with five to ten businesses. Pelham added the master agreement and Vestwell addendum are under review and will go to the Attorney General’s office for approval before full implementation.

"I'd like to announce that we are finally fully staffed," Pelham said while introducing Kayla Slaughter. Staff said the February board meeting will include a deeper, in‑person presentation by Vestwell and PDR partners to walk through technical operations and answer detailed questions from board members. The board tasked staff to return with updated demographic and employer data to inform outstanding design questions before launch.
