The superintendent told the board that chronic absenteeism remains a significant district concern despite declines: districtwide chronic absenteeism moved from 37.9 to 29.1 (district figures reported by Susan). She said the state is changing the absenteeism formula and that the district's measures will no longer be directly comparable to past years; excused absences (including COVID) count against seat time under the revised approach.
