Star Valley Ranch reports progress on meters, PFAS testing and fiber installation

Town Administrator Aiken told the council that the large flow meters are installed and that residential meter installation is underway — roughly 50 currently in the ground — with billing-software adjustments pending. He said the town had received a grant to conduct the initial rounds of PFAS testing and scheduled the testing for April 28.

"We do have one over here that's not quite reading right yet, but in the week we'll have it up and have the overall running and on track," Aiken said of the meter installations. He added the PFAST testing is grant-funded and the town has completed the paperwork to begin the first rounds of sampling.

Aiken also reported on the fiber project: local contractor CMC Concepts (Corey Christensen) will begin work May 4 on the phase running from Vista south. The administrator said contractor selection and communications should improve project responsiveness compared with the prior vendor.

Council members asked for monitoring data to confirm losses between inflow and billed consumption; staff said roughly a month of accurate meter data will be needed before a reliable water-loss report can be prepared. No formal action was taken; staff will provide meter-read summaries and testing results to council when available.
