Commissioners accept $750,000 ATCOG interlocal agreement for northwest communications tower
The court approved an interlocal agreement with ATCOG to accept a $750,000 Homeland Security grant and contract to build a communications tower in northwest Harrison County, and authorized recurring fiber‑optic charges ($1,490/month) for the county radio upgrade.

Staff updated commissioners on progress of the county radio upgrade, including two fiber‑optic lines needed for connectivity (combined recurring cost reported as $1,490 per month) and an installation charge expected to be covered by the proposed project budget. Staff said Motorola equipment has been installed at the Fton Street tower and that other tower sites (Jonesville/Enterprise and Highway 449) are pending lease or TEEX scheduling.
