Council recognizes overdose awareness day; Unity Recovery praises community work and training

Council member Castillo used a personal point of privilege to recognize Unity Recovery on the council floor and to mark International Overdose Awareness Day (Aug. 31). Castillo recalled the city's 2024 joint resolution with Bexar County that declared overdose a public health crisis and thanked Unity Recovery and San Antonio Fire Department programs for connecting residents to recovery resources.
