Licensing data: staff reports 4,385 inspectors on record and flags processing slowdowns while automation is paused

Denise Sample, director of licensing, presented the inspector counts and application-processing reports the committee requested. She said, "we ended November with 4,385 inspectors," walked the group through renewal cycles and averages, and explained that reported averages exclude time applicants spend waiting for exams or background checks.

Sample cautioned that, because automation was paused while staff troubleshoot Realm performance, the average number of touches and average processing days could increase over the next reporting periods. Committee members noted that isolated long-processing outliers can skew averages when volumes are low; staff said they are monitoring performance and will report improvements as system fixes take hold.
