City staff reported 59 active nuisance ordinance cases as of early summer, with six citations issued and categories including expired registrations, inoperable vehicles, and trash/debris. Jackie updated the council on nuisance-ordinance enforcement, reporting that at the beginning of summer there were 59 active cases spanning commercial properties, businesses and one residential property with a collapsing garage. She said staff had issued six citations, two of which have been reset or resolved, and that many cases involve expired vehicle registrations, inoperable vehicles, or trash and debris. Jackie described an accelerated compliance process in which staff provide a two-day notice for immediate issues before initiating abatement and invoicing when necessary.
