The city manager told the council the city will host a Community Partnership Program with National Guard representatives on Sept. 2–3 that includes public meetings, a wreath‑laying and community events at the American Legion. Staff encouraged residents to attend and learn about the Guard's role in the local region; Major General Craig Strong was listed as an expected attendee.
