Progreso ISD superintendent unveils "Ants Lift Each Other Up" anti‑bullying campaign

The Progreso ISD superintendent told trustees on July 2 that the district will add an anti‑bullying component to its social‑emotional learning rotation and launch a year‑long campaign called "Ants Lift Each Other Up." The proposal calls for counselors to include bullying topics in weekly lessons and for the district to extend messaging to families and community meetings.

"We want to create I guess a concept when it comes to the anti‑bullying campaign and we want to call it 'Ants Lift Each Other Up,'" the superintendent said, noting principals responded positively to a poster draft. The superintendent said the campaign will emphasize teamwork, collaboration and support for students, teachers and staff, and that counselors will integrate the material into their weekly rotations once they return to campus.

Trustees were shown poster templates and were told a branding template was provided by Ms. Flores. The superintendent said district leaders plan to place posters on campuses and department locations and to involve students in videos and other materials as the campaign rolls out.
