Elk County Prison reports several resignations, one new hire

Warden Scott Atwell told the board that part-time Correctional Officer Gregory Wonderly resigned effective Feb. 27 and Roderick Smith resigned effective March 29 after accepting a full‑time position with Elk County Probation. Full‑time officer Kiara Schauer resigned effective April 2. Atwell said the prison filled one vacancy when Damian Challingsworth was hired as a part‑time correctional officer effective April 20; Challingsworth is from Ridgway.
