Quogue draft clarifies gate heights, widths and visibility requirements for fences
The proposed amendment defines how fence and gate heights are measured, allows driveway gates up to six feet and gateposts up to eight feet, sets minimum driveway gate widths and provides exceptions for attached fences, while preserving visibility (open space) rules.

Local Law No. 8 revises measurement and gate standards in Article V. Presenter read that fence or wall height is measured from natural ground level (or from the base of a retaining wall where applicable), clarifying how new and attached fences will be measured.
