Conservation board approves cost-saving measures for Smith Lake restoration

The Kossuth County Conservation Board on Nov. 3 approved five of seven cost-saving options presented for the Smith Lake restoration project, a move the board said will reduce the construction-phase cost by $809,850. Chairman Young called the special meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. at the Water’s Edge Nature Center and led the review of the consultant recommendations.
