Tenaha ISD board approves multiple staff contracts after executive session

After returning from executive session on March 31, the Tenaha ISD Board of Trustees approved a series of personnel contracts for the 2026–2027 school year. The board approved term 11‑month contracts (including Elizabeth Ward, Stacie Barr, Amy Collins, Colette DePriest and Lauri Sisk), dual 11‑month contracts (including Christina Goodson, Darvin Peterson and Shannon Rios), dual 11‑month probationary contracts (including Shawn Wyatt Hairgrove, Dustin Pledger and Cooper Ward), and multiple term 10‑month contracts listed in the district recommendation. Each approval was made by motion, seconded, and recorded as passing 5–0 with two trustees absent; the approvals were explicitly noted as "subject to assignment and availability of funds."

The board entered executive session under Texas Government Code §551.074 (personnel) and §551.072 (real property) to consider the superintendent’s recommendations before taking action in open session. The personnel actions were entered in the official minutes; the district’s recommendation letter attached to the minutes lists the specific teacher names and contract types that the board approved.
