Leslie Peters, Assistant Director of Education Services, presented Board Policy 523—Substance Use, Misuse and Abuse—as a first reading on April 9. The packet included a complete redline of the 1989 policy and new replacement language. Peters said the policy was "in great need of updating" and that the administrative regulation (AR) would contain the more specific interventions and procedures referenced in the policy.
