Multiple parents and students urged the Comal ISD board to address class size, transparency and safety at Hill Country College Preparatory High School (HCCPHS). Board President Courtney Biasatti announced a new Safety and Security Task Force to develop recommendations for the district's state-required safety committee.

Several parents and a senior student told the Comal ISD Board of Trustees on April 23 that class size, admissions vetting and communication at Hill Country College Preparatory High School (HCCPHS) are harming school culture and undermining safety. Karina and Max Dedaj told trustees that HCCPHS class size is affecting the campus environment and student well-being; Shauna and Pete Myron pressed the district for clearer communications and for more transparent vetting around admission decisions. HCCPHS senior Kylie Trexler offered possible solutions to improve safety and communication, while other commenters raised secure gun-storage and leadership concerns.
