Councilors reviewed a discussion item about aligning Seaside Park’s code with a July change to New Jersey’s Title 39 that classifies electric bicycles by speed, registration and insurance requirements. Speakers at the work session said the state rules cover helmets, speed categories and registration but that local ordinances can still address where devices are allowed, including the boardwalk and other public spaces.
