Fillmore County asks Gov. Walz for state disaster assistance after July floods
The Board unanimously approved sending a letter to Governor Tim Walz requesting State disaster assistance after preliminary damage assessments for flooding between July 2–8, 2026, which caused storm damage estimated just over $60,000 to county roads.

Jason Harmening, Emergency Manager, reported preliminary damage assessment from the July 2-8, 2026 flooding event and the Board voted unanimously to send a letter to Governor Walz requesting State disaster assistance. The motion was made by Prestby and seconded by Bakke.
