Board approves Expanded Learning Program plan and ASIS memorandum supporting $1.2M program

District leaders presented a comprehensive Expanded Learning Program plan that the board approved after a staff presentation highlighting program scope, staffing and student outcomes. "Currently for the before school program, we have 371 students that are enrolled. In our after school program, we have just over 1,000 students enrolled," said Christine Palomino, director of Expanded Learning, who outlined the district's work on conscious discipline, youth voice and career-connected field trips. Palomino also noted the district operates 35 intersession days under ELOP, exceeding the 30-day minimum required by state guidance.
