The Sweeny City Council approved the Sweeny Beautification Committee's FY 2026–2027 budget during its June 16 meeting after a presentation by SBC President Sanci Kennedy. Councilmember Shaun Massey asked for clarification on community upgrades; the motion to approve specified that upgrades would include restoring the gazebo and restoring streetlights on Main Street.
