Public works readies for traffic cameras; resident request for additional speed bump to be considered

Public Works Supervisor Travis Yost updated the council on several operational items, including preparation for traffic camera installation and a resident request for an additional speed bump on Burton Avenue.
"Preparing for installation of the traffic cameras, with Senator Ben Queen’s assistance. Awaiting a permit from the state to move forward," Yost reported. He said the town will add the speed-bump request to the next council agenda for formal consideration and that crews will also paint curbs, crosswalks and hydrants this summer. Councilor Shawn Spurlock was noted for assisting with a recent water break repair at Clarksburg City Park.
The cameras and traffic-calming measures are part of ongoing public-works operations; the council will consider the resident speed-bump request at a future meeting once staff have had a chance to assess placement and impacts.
