The Town of Canaan STEAP Implementation Committee voted unanimously to recommend that the Board of Selectmen post a request for proposals (RFP) for a trash compactor, with a proposed bid open date on or about June 15, 2026 and an expected closing date around June 30, 2026, after the submission process is updated. The minutes record the motion: "Motion to Recommend to the Board of Selectmen to post Trash Compactor RFP for a Bid open date on or about June 15, 2026, ending June 30, 2026, after submission process update."
