Board recognizes BR STEM fellows; program to support ACT prep for high-school participants
The board recognized 25 students who participated in the BR STEM summer fellowship, including roughly 14 students from East Baton Rouge Parish; fellows served as K–8 facilitators, explored STEM majors and will receive support for ACT testing this school year.

Mr. Eric Lewis introduced students from the BR STEM summer fellowship and described the program's aims: exposing students to STEM disciplines, training older students as facilitators for K–8 participants, supporting college-research exploration and providing ACT preparation. Lewis said the program accepts 9th–10th graders into a progression intended to support students from K through college.
