Staff told commissioners they are coordinating with Tico Village woodworkers and a lumber broker (Paul/Edmonson) on salvaging timber from the borrow pit but emphasized that access depends on a grading permit currently with the permitting agency. "We can't get in there without a grading permit," staff said, adding that the permit application is "on their administrative desk right now" and that once the permit is issued the county will submit a zoning application and pay the fee to establish temporary access and the road needed for operations.
