Grant County's IT director asked the council to bolster contractual IT spending to maintain endpoint and backup services after state-provided discounts were scaled back, to refresh courtroom audio/recording equipment that is now more than a decade old, and to secure a two-year maintenance extension rather than an immediate large hardware replacement. The director warned that component pricing in the server market had "made the component market very volatile and the cost of equipment has doubled in some cases," recommending a two-year support extension to buy time for prices to stabilize.
