Trustees approved an amended Budget Amendment #014 on Nov. 5 after prolonged debate about the district’s use of fund balance and the scope of a proposed external forensic audit. Board Member Jessica Gonzalez moved the amendment after administration proposed a package that initially included up to $350,000 as a placeholder for an outside forensic audit, $250,000 for police and security needs and $160,000 in state compensatory staff-development funds.
