The Canadian ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve a TEA Exception Waiver request concerning a bilingual exception and/or English as a Second Language (ESL) waiver at its Oct. 22, 2025 meeting. Trustee Bryan Bartlett moved for approval; Jessica Cowden seconded, and the motion passed 6–0.
