Library director reports program growth, staffing changes and space study showing need to expand

The library reported a jump in programs and attendance, new part-time hires and a state-funded space assessment that found the building too small for current service levels; the library also received an ALA grant to install an automatic front door for accessibility.

Laura presented the library's annual report, outlining revenue sources, staffing changes and program expansion. She said the library's income comes from "basically four main places: City of Swisher, Johnson County, City of Shueyville and the State of Iowa," and said city contributions were steady while county and Shueyville support rose because of patron usage patterns.
