The Monroe Public Schools Board discussed hiring additional registered behavior technicians, with administration saying the district is seeking to restore its original allotment of 10 RBTs to support students with significant behavioral needs. Superintendent Shaw and staff said RBTs provide one-on-one crisis prevention and are trained to perform certified holds when students pose a danger to themselves or others; each RBT must be supervised by a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA).
