Planning Commission recommends Subdivision Plan Checklist be adopted as guidance

At its Feb. 18 meeting, the Codorus Township Planning Commission voted to recommend that the Board of Supervisors adopt an updated Subdivision Plan Checklist and Application as a guidance document. Planner/staff member Megan Harris presented updates she has been working on; Brenda Miller moved the recommendation and Christine Schwarz seconded. The record indicates the motion carried.

Staff and commission members discussed how changes to the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO) would be handled in the future. In response to a question from Carolyn Bupp, Brenda Miller said she would add SALDO amendments to a future meeting agenda. Jeff Shue clarified the checklist’s purpose: "The Subdivision Checklist is an administrative tool to assist someone that is not familiar with subdivision to work through the process and does not change any requirements of the ordinance." The recommendation forwards the checklist as guidance only; any ordinance changes would require a separate formal amendment process and further review by the commission and the Board of Supervisors.
