Key dates, application changes and award timeline for Bradley County HCI grants

At a workshop for prospective applicants, Lori Moltry, Bradley County’s HCI administrator, laid out the application calendar and process changes for the current grant cycle. She said, "beginning this year, letters of intent are no longer required" and that the first step is submitting a completed application by September 24 at 4:30 p.m.; electronic submissions must show a receive timestamp by that hour. Moltry said grant awards are anticipated to be announced on November 3 and cautioned applicants not to begin work or incur expenses until they have a fully executed grant contract signed by the applicant organization and the Bradley County mayor.

Moltry explained administrative steps after selection: recipients will receive a grant contract to sign; upon project completion grantees must submit a reimbursement request with proof of payment and schedule a site visit where two HCI committee members and the administrator will verify that the completed project matches the proposal before payment is issued.
