Bradley County sheriff details expanded drone program: seven drones and 13 pilots on call
Lieutenant Robert Jones and Sheriff Lawson described a revitalized drone program—five Autel Evo Max drones from a grant and two Skyo X10 drones via an Axon contract—for search, K9 support, crash mapping and rare hostage negotiation use; 13 pilots are certified and four hold FAA 107 licenses.

Lieutenant Robert Jones told the committee Sheriff Lawson revitalized the drone program in 2023 and the department now fields seven drones and 13 pilots. "In 2023, Sheriff Lawson revitalized our drone program... Since 2023, uh we obtained five Autel Evo Max drones uh through a grant... and then last year we obtained uh two Skyo X10 drones through our Axon uh contract. So we're up to seven drones total. We have 13 drone pilots," Jones said.
