The commission unanimously approved a request to plant three columnar endowment maples on Park View in front of the governor’s residence; city funds will cover the plantings and staff said the species are well‑suited to the site.

Jim Mason, the horticulturalist who works at the governor's residence, described the request to plant three columnar (endowment) maples in the Park View tree lawn in front of the mansion. He said the trees are selected for strong fall color and urban performance and that the planting area could accommodate three columnar specimens within the available 65 feet of plantable space.
