The board interviewed candidate Mr. Sedda for the vacant Position 7 slot and heard about his lived experiences as a Black, multilingual immigrant, parent and volunteer. Sedda told the board he moved intentionally to Gresham in 2013 for its cultural diversity, is a founding member of the Black Student Union Family Connection, serves on the District Equity Committee and chairs a state refugee and immigrant advocacy group that distributed $4 million in grants to local agencies.
