Council authorizes abatement process for long‑neglected Hamilton Street property

Animal Control officer Lila Sexton told the council she has handled complaints about 1224 Hamilton Street since 2019 and that certified letters requiring compliance were returned unclaimed; the property remains in violation of nuisance standards. "Despite warnings, citations, and extensions over the course of a decade, the nuisance condition has persisted with little meaningful compliance," Sexton said, and she asked the council to authorize abatement bids and return cost estimates.
