Andrew Meek told the council he expects the Conservation Honor Camp to close by the end of June and said the city stands to lose three to four Conservation Trust inmate workers who currently supplement a six‑person Public Works crew. "I am assuming the camp will close by the end of June and we will be losing Conservation Trust inmates at Public Works," Meek said, adding the loss will force the department to prioritize core tasks and explore seasonal hires or partnerships for summer help.
