County keeps burn ban in place as drought maps update; possible repeal if conditions improve

Commissioners retroactively approved a May 20 burn‑ban LSE and approved a June 3 burn‑ban LSE; Emergency Management said drought index updates could allow repeal as soon as the next day if the "exceptional" category drops out. Commissioners stressed that controlled burns with fire department presence remain an option under the ban.
