Commission adopts fire codes, a municipal-facility resolution and routine contracts
The commission adopted the 2024 International Fire Code (Resolution 2615) and the 2024 Wildland Urban Interface Code (Resolution 2616, state implementation timeline to 2027), approved a cooperative wildfire agreement with the state, passed a municipal-facility identification resolution, and approved fairgrounds and weed-control contracts.

Multiple routine measures were approved by the commission. The Fire Marshal recommended and the commission adopted the 2024 International Fire Code (resolution 2615) and the 2024 Wildland-Urban-Interface Code (resolution 2616); staff noted state adoption timelines and amendments may affect local implementation dates. The commission also approved Cooperative Wildfire System Agreement 2622 with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands to define initial-attack and cost-sharing responsibilities for large incidents.
