Measure would add naloxone training to required CPR training for workers

AB 2150 would require employees who are already CPR-certified for their jobs to complete a brief naloxone training module, proponents said, to expand workplace overdose response capacity. Health and harm-reduction groups supported the change as a life-saving step and the committee moved the bill to Appropriations.

On behalf of Assemblymember Haney, Assemblymember Bridal presented AB 2150, which would require workers who are CPR-certified as part of their jobs to also complete a short naloxone training module so they can recognize and respond to opioid overdoses.
